On October 6, two of Southern Arizona’s top volleyball programs will battle for the Kino Region Title and a top seed in the 4A Conference; but for one night, school colors take a back seat.

Ironwood Ridge vs. Mica Mountain

The Nighthawks and Thunderbolts will trade their traditional colors for PINK as they come together to support Breast Cancer Awareness and honor those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

Volleyball has some big-time matches in the newly refurbished Nighthawk Volleyball Arena.

GAMEDAY! Ironwood Ridge hosts Flagstaff High School tonight in a 4A match-up that will have power point implications for State Seeding.

Last season, both teams were ranked in the top four for the State Tournament so this match will help sort it out for this season.

CAMPER REUNION NIGHT! We had a great time seeing all the youth campers back on campus for our match last night. Thanks for being awesome and e can’t wait to see you again this summer!

It’s a classic North vs. South matchup as Flagstaff High School travels to Oro Valley for the first regular-season meeting between two of Arizona’s top 4A programs.

Ironwood Ridge holds a slight 3-2 edge in the all-time series, although all five previous meetings have come at invitationals or the 2013 State Semi-Finals. A home-and-away series between the two schools has been in the works for several years, due to the relationship between two of Arizona’s longest-tenured volleyball coaches.

The Eagles have earned a Top 4 seed in the 4A State Tournament in each of the past two seasons, setting the stage for an important early-season matchup between two established programs. With State Tournament seeding and home-court advantage at stake later in the season, this Northern Arizona vs Southern Arizona showdown should provide an early test for both teams.

GAMEDAY: The Nighthawks host Sahuaro High School tonight in the Volleyball Arena.

It’s Camper Reunion Night and all middle school students that attended the Ironwood Ridge Volleyball Camps this summer are welcome to join the team and participate in the serving contest tonight!

CAMPER NIGHT IS WEDNESDAY! If you attended the Ironwood Ridge Volleyball Camp this summer, wear your camp shirt and get in free to Wednesday’s match vs Sahuaro.

All youth campers (8th Grade or younger) can also participate in a Serving Contest during Intermission and are invited into the Locker Room after the match. We hope to see all our campers in the gym this week!

WEDNESDAY: It’s Camper Reunion Night as we welcome back all the youth campers from our summer volleyball camps! A serving contest will be held after the second set.

THURSDAY: Northern Arizona’s top program visits Southern Arizona’s top program in a classic North vs South Showdown. Pack the gym as Flagstaff High School makes the trip Oro Valley!

VIVA LAS VEGAS! The Nighthawks went 4-3 this weekend at the Durango Fall Classic, advancing to the Classic Division Final to finish 34th out of 64 teams this weekend in Las Vegas.

VIVA LAS VEGAS! The Nighthawks open pool play today at the 2026 Durango Fall Classic in Las Vegas against nationally ranked Marymount High School (CA), Rockin High School (CA), and host Coronado High School (NV).

The first varsity team (in 2002) to the 25th Varsity Team in 2026.

It’s Homecoming this week, and we’re hosting our first of two Alumni Nights tonight when we take on Walden Grove, celebrating the women that built the program.

Ironwood Ridge High School is celebrating the school’s 25th Anniversary and alumni from all eras will be recognized at the two matches and a private reception will be hosted by the Lang Family after the match.
